OET: Occupational English Test

OET is an extra special test, developed to evaluate healthcare professionals’ English language proficiency and clinical communication. It’s amazing to hear that OET is valid in the world’s top 12 high economic countries.

This means by clearing one exam you will be eligible to apply in more than 15 different countries based on your choice. These are Canada, Maldives, Malta, Namibia, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Ukraine, UK, UAE, Australia, the UK, the USA, New Zealand, and Ireland.

OET was designed to encompass 12 different healthcare professionals like dentistry, dietetics, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, radiography, speech pathology, and veterinary science.

As an additional information, you must know that OET was developed in the late 1980s by professor Tim McNamara, under the direction by the Australian National Office for Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) who was the test's administrator at the time.
